In early April, São Paulo hosted BIS SiGMA Americas, one of the gaming and betting industry’s key events. Neko Games attended to emphasize the importance of the Brazilian market, where the company secured certification for its games late last year.
Juan Pablo Córdoba López, founder and CPO of the company, spoke with Yogonet to reflect on the event. In the conversation, he highlighted both the importance of Brazil as a market and Neko Games’ future plans for the region.
What is your assessment of the São Paulo expo, and how important is Brazil as a developing market for the gaming and betting segment?
Our participation in BiS SiGMA 2025 was extremely positive. Beyond reconnecting with key partners and operators, it was a great opportunity to showcase our latest Instant Bingo innovations, including several titles designed specifically for Brazilian players.
The reception was excellent: many operators pointed out how we managed to take video bingo to a new level—something they hadn’t thought possible. They praised the gameplay experience, the graphics and animations, and the addition of modern features that until recently were hard to imagine in this type of game. But what they valued most was the synergy achieved between all these elements, resulting in a truly distinctive product.
Brazil is currently one of the most dynamic and promising markets in the region. At Neko, we’ve been investing heavily in this market, developing products that blend the essence of local gaming with contemporary mechanics and high performance. We are fully confident in its potential for sustained growth as the regulatory process advances.
During the expo, you received a major award. Can you tell us more about this recognition of Neko’s recent work?
Winning the Best Bingo Game of the Year award at the BiS Awards was a huge joy for the entire team, and it reflects the talent, dedication, and passion we put into our work every day. It recognizes the path we’ve been pursuing—breaking away from the classic paradigms of video bingo, focusing on innovation, and taking the category into a new stage. At the same time, it motivates us to keep challenging ourselves. In such a competitive industry, innovation is no longer just a slogan, but a strategic necessity to remain relevant.
Where does the company stand in the market today—both in Brazil and across Latin America? And which markets are particularly important to boost growth during the remainder of 2025?
Neko is now a consolidated brand in the Instant Bingo segment in Brazil and Latin America, and we continue to grow steadily in other regions thanks to our global distribution agreements.
In Brazil, we are gaining more and more traction with games that are delivering outstanding performance for local operators. In addition, we are expanding our offering into broader verticals, in line with our design philosophy centered on experience, innovation, and generating value for both players and operators. We expect to share news on this very soon.
Looking ahead to the end of 2025, our main priorities will be: strengthening our position in Brazil, accelerating growth in Mexico and other key LatAm markets, and continuing to consolidate our presence with international operators who have already adopted our games as an innovative and profitable alternative within the segment.
Finally, based on your experience, what do you see as the main challenges for Brazil as a market, considering the pending authorizations and regulations that require political decisions in the coming months?
I believe the main challenge is twofold: on the one hand, further refining the existing online regulation to build a clear, efficient, and balanced environment for all stakeholders in the sector. On the other, supporting this process with an orderly expansion of the land-based channel, moving toward a truly omnichannel entertainment offering.
As a game studio, we believe it is essential that the regulatory framework reflects the diversity of products and focuses on entertainment and player value. Encouraging a competitive, innovative ecosystem that promotes responsible gaming and has clear rules is crucial for the industry’s sustained development.
Brazil has everything it needs to become the regional leader in online gaming, and the role of the state will be key to turning that potential into long-term investment, employment, and growth.
